• आज का युग कॉम्युटर युग है, और चित्र व्यक्ति और कार्यालयीन  जीवन का अभिन्न अंग प्रतीत होता है।
•  कॉम्युटर किसी भी चीज़ की गणना करने का एक अच्छा तरीका है।  
• यह बहुत तेजी से , सटीक काम करने वाला उपकरण है।  
• कॉम्युटर एक मानव-चलित उपकरण है।  
• मानव कॉम्युटर को कच्ची जानकारी प्रदान करता है  और उसके बाद  कॉम्युटर जानकारी का विश्लेषण और प्रसंस्करण करके आपको आवश्यक जानकारी प्रदान करता है। 
• द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के बाद, कॉम्युटर बहुत तेजी से विकसित हुए।  आज, कॉम्युटर का उपयोग मानव जीवन के लगभग सभी क्षेत्रों में व्यापक रूप से किया जाता है।

एक कॉम्युटर को अंग्रेजी में कॉम्युटर कहा जाता है, और एक कॉम्युटर एक तेजी से  बौद्धिक करणे वाली एक इलेक्ट्रॉनिक मशीन है जिसकी काम करणे कि  क्षमता इस प्रकार है   

1. उसे दिये  गई जानकारी को स्वीकार करणा ।  
2. उसे दिये हुये सुचना  पालन करना। 
3. गणितीय और तार्किक सूत्रीकरण की प्रक्रिया करता है।
4. उपयोगकर्ता की आवश्यकता के अनुसार जानकारी प्रदान करता है।

कॉम्युटर का उपयोग बहुत कम जगह में जानकारी संग्रहीत करने के लिए किया जा सकता है।  वैसेही कॉम्युटर संग्रहीत जानकारी का तेजी से विश्लेषण भी कर सकता है।

कॉम्युटर के बारे में महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि उसे प्राथमिक डेटा भेजना भेजना आवश्यक है ।  यह भी की कॉम्युटर इस्तेमाल करने वाले को क्या आवश्यक है वो कॉम्युटर को निर्देशित करना आवश्यक है ।  कॉम्युटर तब प्रदान की गई जानकारी पर आवश्यक प्रक्रिया करता है, और फिर आपको आवश्यक जानकारी प्रदान करता है।
